ABOUT US | Experience

Since 1985, Indeck Energy has developed, financed, managed the construction, owned and operated numerous power generation facilities across the United States and abroad. We continue to own and operate a large majority of these plants. Indeck Energy has a proven track record when it comes to creating and sustaining new businesses, and over the years we’ve enjoyed long-term partnerships with several Fortune 100 companies and some of the largest financial institutions in the world.

Our experience spans a wide range of technologies and geographical settings. Here are just a few examples:

  • Our 300 MW gas-fired peaker in northern Illinois holds the unofficial record for the shortest construction timeframe, from start of construction in January 2001 to commercial operation in June of that year.
  • We successfully recommissioned and operated two 25 MW biomass facilities in Maine.
  • Our 400 MW single-shaft turbine combined cycle plant in Enfield, England, was one of the first successful merchant plants financed in the United Kingdom.
  • We developed, constructed and operated a 40 MW inside-the-fence diesel engine facility for a steel mill in Guatemala.

No longer content to just seek opportunities in the conventional fuel sectors, we are developing projects in renewable energy, including biomass and biofuels. We currently own a biomass electric plant in New Hampshire, a wood pelletization facility in Wisconsin, and have ownership interests in over a dozen ethanol plants and one biodiesel plant.
